Hi all,
I have a squid (an old redhat 9) that send the log to a syslog server on FC5. Everythings works well.
The remote syslog introduce same information at the beginning of recieved record log: time date and sending server process

Feb 17 18:43:33 server squid[5920]:

I've an application that read and import the squid log from syslog server, but the application doesn't like the information that syslog server introduce and doesn't import anything.
There is a way to tell to syslog server to do not introduce these informations?

I hope I've been clear

Any help or suggestions are really appreciated

thanks a lot in advance

Lorenzo

What kind of syslogd is running on the syslog server?  If it is not rsyslog or syslog-ng, then you probably can't fix this unless you change to one of those.
