Error opening file for writing

Hi!

I have a strange error on my syslog-ng server.
Everything was ok until I used a different hard disk for logs destination.

Now if I restart syslog-ng service, I can read the following error on /var/log/messages:
syslog-ng[1626]: Error opening file for writing; filename='/secondDisk/device', error='Permission denied (13)'

syslog-ng service is running as root, and /secondDisk/device has all permissions (777).
It is possible to create new files and directories, and I can write on /secondDisk/device log file.

Do you have some ideas about it?

Thanks in advance!

That is odd.  What operating system?

Re: Error opening file for writing

It is a Red Hat EL5.
I have done some tests, just stopping and starting syslog-ng service (#service syslog-ng stop #service syslog-ng start).
And sometimes the error appears (the server do not receive anything) and sometimes not (the server receives logs with no problem).

Somebody has the same problem?
