Folks, I'm not too technical here, but I'm trying to determine if various operating systems (in this case HP-UX, AIX and Linux) somewhere list all of their possible log entries.

I'm primarily interested in events around security (logins, user changes, root changes, etc.), but without knowing what all those possible entries are, hoping for a master list to analyze.

I think there is no such list available. While I think it would be nice to have it, I also think it is very much effort to compile it. For starters, you could do a grep syslog( on the sources in interest... but I guess you will be overwhelmed by the number of results Wink
